Statement on Independence, Neutrality, and Non-Endorsement

Establishing Trust in Algorithmic Trading Through Transparency and Accountability

Our Mission

VeritasChain Standards Organization (VSO) was established to promote transparency, fairness, and security in algorithmic trading across global financial markets, guided by our mission: "Encoding Trust in the Algorithmic Age."

At the core of our work is the development, maintenance, and promotion of the VeritasChain Protocol (VCP) standard. To fulfill this critical role, VSO's operations must be rooted in independence, neutrality, and transparency. This statement clarifies our commitment to these fundamental principles and outlines important policies regarding VSO certification.

1. An Independent Standards Body

VSO operates as a neutral, international standards organization, completely independent of any specific commercial interests or political influences.

Vendor Neutrality

VSO does not work for the benefit of any specific technology vendor, financial institution, trading platform, or national interest. VCP specifications are never designed to favor particular products or services (eliminating vendor lock-in), prioritizing the interests of all market participants and the health of the financial ecosystem as a whole.

Objective Governance

VSO's governance structure and technical committees are composed of financial industry practitioners, regulatory compliance experts, academic researchers, and independent technical specialists. Decision-making processes are transparent and based on consensus that is open to all stakeholders.

2. Non-Profit Operation

VSO conducts activities aimed at promoting long-term financial market health and innovation, rather than pursuing short-term profits.

Revenue Transparency

VSO's revenue is derived from sustainable activities such as:

  • Certification program review fees (VC-Certified)
  • Technical training and workshops
  • Specification documents and developer resources
  • Donations and grants from industry partners

All revenue is reinvested in the development, maintenance, and promotion of the VCP standard.

No Shareholders or Investors

VSO has no shareholders demanding dividends or investors expecting short-term returns. This enables decision-making from a long-term perspective without compromising technical integrity and ethical standards.

3. Non-Endorsement Policy

Certification Does Not Imply Endorsement

Important Principle

"VC-Certified" is proof of technical compliance, not a product or service recommendation.

What Certification Means

The "VC-Certified" badge issued by VSO certifies that a system or algorithm meets the technical requirements defined in VCP Specification v1.0, including:

  • Cryptographic signature validity (Ed25519, future: Dilithium)
  • Timestamp accuracy (PTP synchronization)
  • Data structure integrity (UUIDv7, JSON Schema compliance)
  • Immutability of audit trails (Merkle Tree verification)

What Certification Does NOT Mean

Certification does not guarantee or recommend the following:

  • Investment Performance: Algorithm profitability or trading strategy excellence
  • Business Reliability: Company financial health or management ethics
  • Regulatory Compliance: Compliance with national financial regulations (MiFID II, SEC Rules, etc.)
  • Security Guarantee: Complete resistance to cyber attacks

VSO does not commercially recommend or promote products or services that have obtained VC-Certified badges. Users must properly understand the scope of certification and select/use products at their own responsibility.

4. Conflict of Interest Management

Disclosure Obligations

VSO board members, technical committee members, and certification auditors are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest (employment relationships with financial institutions, stock holdings, consulting contracts, etc.) in advance and are excluded from deliberations and votes on relevant cases.

Commercial Relationship Limits

VSO does not establish direct commercial relationships (e.g., consulting, joint development, marketing partnerships) with applicant companies beyond certification program review fees.

5. Transparency and Accountability

Open Source Commitment

VCP specifications, JSON Schema, reference implementations (SDKs), and conformance test tools are published as open source (Apache 2.0 or MIT License). Anyone can freely access, implement, and propose improvements.

Annual Reporting

VSO publishes annual financial reports and activity reports, transparently disclosing revenue usage, certification program statistics, and progress in standardization activities.

Conclusion: As a Foundation of Trust

VSO's independence, non-profit nature, and non-endorsement principles are not mere ideals, but practical foundations for building "trust" in financial markets of the algorithmic age.

Under the name "Veritas" (truth), we commit to balancing technical rigor with ethical integrity, creating a fair and transparent environment for all market participants.

This statement is VSO's code of conduct and our pledge to all stakeholders.
