How do I start implementing VCP?

We recommend starting with Silver Tier Shadow Logging. This requires minimal changes to your existing system and provides immediate tamper-evident audit trails.

What is the VC-Certified application process?

Conformity assessment is performed by VSO-accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), not by VSO. Timelines depend on the CAB and the tier; an automated conformance test suite has not been published (a Conformance Test Guide is available in vcp-conformance-guide).

Does VCP work with my existing FIX infrastructure?

Yes! VCP uses a "sidecar" pattern that runs alongside your FIX engine without modifications. A sidecar integration guide (vcp-sidecar-guide) and a FIX reference implementation (vcp-fix-rta-reference) are published on GitHub.

Is VCP open and free to use?

Yes. The VCP specification is free to use under the CC BY 4.0 license. SDK source code has not yet been published; the SDK specification (vcp-sdk-spec) is available under Apache 2.0. VSO is the standards organization dedicated to maintaining and evolving the protocol.
