From Accident-Then-Regulation to Learn-Before-Accident
Throughout history, society has typically responded to accidents with regulation—after harm has already occurred. Aviation safety rules followed crashes; financial regulations followed market failures. This reactive pattern has been the norm.
Today, we have something different: access to historical records and the ability to observe how systems behave under various conditions. This creates an opportunity to verify and learn before catastrophic failures, rather than after.
The goal is to shift toward a culture where verification and learning happen proactively—where evidence is examined and lessons drawn before incidents escalate.
For that purpose, we would like to help place a precedent—quietly, but deliberately.
What We Do
- Develop and maintain open specifications for verifiable audit evidence
- Publish domain profiles, starting with VeritasChain Protocol (VCP) for financial trading audit trails
- Provide reference implementations and verification tooling to support adoption
- Promote a shared learning culture through verifiable, independently checkable evidence formats
What We Do Not Do
- We do not endorse any company, product, or investment strategy
- We do not request regulatory approval or policy action
- We do not claim that audit trails alone prevent accidents
- We do not replace existing supervisory or audit responsibilities
VSO, VCP, and VAP
Principles
- Neutrality
- Transparency
- Verifiability over trust
- Interoperability
- Future-proof security
Certification is performed by accredited CABs
VeritasChain Certified (VC-Certified) is issued by Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) accredited under the scheme rules.
VSO sets the rules and maintains the standard; VSO itself does not issue certifications.
We believe verifiable evidence can accelerate learning and accountability in high-risk AI systems. VeritasChain Protocol (VCP) is only a beginning.
